About Lesley Marshall Cake and chocolate Art

One of the hardest things for me is to write about myself, whereas cakes and chocolates  I can talk about all day long.         Me, not so much...so here goes...

Founded in 2011 and originally as Hip-pop cakes, was set up as a brother & sister team. Russell is no longer cake making and as a result I have recently rebranded as Lesley Marshall – cake and chocolate art. Located in a small village outside Taunton (and just inside the Devon border), I am now the sole owner and work from home where I hold a 5* rating for food hygiene and management issued by Mid Devon County Council.

I am a multi-award-winning cake artist, winning 7 Gold awards and 1 Silver award at the largest cake international competition, along with a 1st and 2nd award.  In addition, “Best in Show” and 2 first awards at The Big Cake Show at Exeter. I have appeared on BBC Somerset on their social media sites.

I offer bespoke wedding cakes throughout the South West.  My passion is creating sugar flowers and customised cake toppers which complement your cake.  I also like the challenge of creating a novelty Wedding cake.

​

I offer a personal service to my clients, taking on a limited number of Wedding cakes each month so that you each receive individual attention.

Since starting the business, the response to my work has been tremendous. It has led to many exciting opportunities, supplying cakes, winning awards but most important of all is being part of my bride & groom’s special day.

​

During COVID lockdown I learnt the art of chocolates and now create artistic chocolate art in bonbons, bars and eggs.   I love the artistic side of making chocolates.
